LOHI Bassline Junkie

A fully open-source 8-voice hardware synthesizer built for hands-on sound design, live performance, and deep experimentation. One knob per function — turn a control, hear the change, keep moving.

Three oscillators per voice, flexible modulation, multimode filtering, SD card preset storage, and USB MIDI — the immediacy of a hardware instrument with the freedom of an open-source platform.

8-Voice Polyphony

Play chords, layered textures, basslines, pads, and evolving sequences with eight independent voices of polyphony.

3 Oscillators Per Voice

Each voice has three oscillators with sine, sawtooth, square, and noise waveforms. Independent tuning lets you build everything from clean tones and thick detuned stacks to noisy percussion, drones, and unstable analog-style patches.

Multi-Mode Filter

A resonant state-variable filter offering low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass modes. Frequency, resonance, and keyboard tracking move you from warm subtractive tones to sharp, animated filter motion.

3 ADSR Envelopes

Three full ADSR envelope generators give detailed control over amplitude, filter movement, pitch, and modulation depth. Loop mode turns envelopes into extra rhythmic or cyclic modulation sources.

3 LFOs

Three LFOs with sine, saw, square, and triangle waveforms provide free-running modulation. Use them for vibrato, tremolo, filter sweeps, drifting pitch, or slow evolving patches.

Modulation Matrix

Route envelopes and LFOs to multiple destinations through the modulation matrix. Connect modulation sources to oscillator pitch, filter cutoff, and other synthesis parameters.

512 Presets

Store up to 512 presets on an SD card. Save your own patches, recall them instantly, back them up, and share banks with other Bassline Junkie users.

7-Segment Display

A simple 7-segment LED display keeps patch selection and navigation direct, readable, and performance-friendly.

MIDI Over USB

Connect Bassline Junkie directly to your DAW, sequencer, or hardware setup over USB MIDI. Use it as a desktop module, a live performance instrument, or part of a larger MIDI-controlled rig.

Fully Open Source

Bassline Junkie is designed to be studied, modified, repaired, and extended. The hardware and software are open — for musicians, builders, hackers, and anyone who wants to reshape their instrument.

One Knob Per Function

Core sound parameters have dedicated physical controls — no menu diving, no hidden pages. Oscillators, envelopes, LFOs, filter, modulation, and preset handling are laid out for fast hands-on editing.
